Flu shots are available to high-risk people in Whitman County

The Whitman County Health Department will offer flu shots by appointment to people at the highest risk for complications from influenza.

For an appointment, call the Pullman office at (509) 332-6752 or the Colfax office at (509) 397-6280. The $15 cost is covered by Medicare and Medicaid.

The Pullman office is at 1205 S.E. Professional Mall Blvd., Suite 203. The Colfax office is at 310 N. Main in the Public Service Building.

High-risk groups include people age 65 and older; adults and children with chronic health conditions; children 6 months to 23 months; household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of infants under 6 months old; health care workers who provide hands-on care to patients; pregnant women; children 6 months to 18 years who take aspirin daily; and residents of nursing homes and other chronic-care facilities.
