Catholic Charities Volunteer Chore Services – Volunteers are needed today for the Sixth Annual Leaf Raking Blitz, from 9 a.m.-noon at O’Malley Hall, 330 E. Boone. Drivers are also needed to deliver food to shut-ins every third Thursday of the month. For more information about either of these opportunities, call 328-8400.

Catholic Charities – Volunteers are needed to help with the House of Charity’s Winter Sleeping Program, the new St. Anne’s Children and Family Center and the Spokesman-Review Christmas Bureau. There will be a volunteer orientation Wednesday from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Catholic Pastoral Center, 1023 W. Riverside. Lunch will be provided. Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest – The Going Home Initiative is in need of clerical and administrative volunteers. The Program is designed to address the needs of juvenile and young adult offenders returning to their community. For more information contact Rachel at 344-0161.

Mothers of Preschoolers – Volunteers are needed for this group’s monthly meetings to help set up and take down their classroom at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar. For more information, call Lori at 448-3444 or e-mail dimether@msn.com.

Page Ahead, Spokane – This children’s literacy program needs volunteers to help in the office, reading events, book distributions, workshops, to organize book drives and also volunteers who can help translate children’s books, especially those who can translate into Russian and other Slavic languages.
