Bartolo Colon dominated in seven sharp innings while pitching on three days’ rest for the third time in his career, and No. 9 hitter Alfredo Amezaga had a grand slam that led Anaheim over the Oakland Athletics 10-0 on Friday night at Oakland, Calif. The Angels won for the sixth time in seven games and took a one-game West lead over the A’s with two to play.

Blue Jays 7, Yankees 0: At Toronto, David Bush pitched a two-hitter for the first complete game of his major league career, and the Blue Jays beat New York.

Devil Rays 4, Tigers 1: At Detroit, Rob Bell came within an out of his first career shutout before Ivan Rodriguez doubled for his 1,000th career RBI, and Tampa Bay beat the Tigers to clinch fourth place in the East.

Red Sox 8, Orioles 3: At Baltimore, Tim Wakefield allowed two runs in six innings for his first victory since August, and Johnny Damon and David Ortiz homered to power Boston past the Orioles.

Twins 4, Indians 3: At Minneapolis, Corey Koskie homered and hit a go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning, lifting Minnesota over Cleveland.

White Sox 4, Royals 2: At Kansas City, Mo., Jon Garland pitched six solid innings, and Chicago clinched second place in the Central with a win over the Royals.
