CdA dumps Lewiston
Jenna Griffitts led Coeur d’Alene with nine kills, as the Vikings (5-4 Inland Empire League) rolled over visiting Lewiston 25-15, 25-16, 25-20 in an Inland Empire League volleyball match Saturday. Katie Davidson had 21 assists and Jackie Lenz had 13 digs, as CDA pulled into a virtual tie for second in the IEL, four games behind undefeated Lake City. Lewiston drops to 2-8 in league play.
• Post Falls went on the road and swept Bonners Ferry (0-9), knocking off the Badgers 25-22, 25-21, 25-18. Mackenzie Sinclair had eight kills for the Trojans (3-6), Erin Carr chipped in 13 digs and Hannah Mundy had 14 assists in the non-league match. … In the Great Northern League, Nikki Bardwell had 26 kills to lead Colville to a 22-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 15-8 win at Pullman. The Indians (5-0 GNL) also got 17 digs from Whitney Loan in the victory. Grethe Vogel had 14 kills, Amy Small had 33 assists and Crystal Dayton had 29 digs in a losing cause for the Greyhounds (3-2). With the win, Colville has built a one-game lead over second-place Lakeside.

Lake City (3-5-4, 3-2-2 IEL) held on during a frenetic final five minutes to beat visiting Lewiston 3-2. The Bengals (2-7-1, 0-7-0 IEL) scored in the 76th minute to even the match at two, but with a minute remaining, Holly Meyer took a pass from Elizabeth Young and beat the Bengals goalie for the game-winner. … Sandpoint rolled to an easy 6-1 road win at Post Falls (6-6-0, 2-6-0) to stay undefeated in league play. Kylie France scored twice for the Bulldogs, and Allison Gillis added a goal and an assist as the Bulldogs (10-2-2, 8-0-1) stretched out their league lead over idle Moscow, Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland. … Orofino (0-0-2 IML) and St. Maries (1-1-2) played to a scoreless draw in an Intermountain League game at St. Maries. … Jenny Tibbals scored a hat trick and Mia Tibbals scored twice and assisted on three goals as Moscow (8-4-0) had an easy 6-2 win at McCall-Donnelly. The three goals gave Tibbals 15 on the year, and Mia Tibbals’ three assists put her an eight on the campaign. Jo Byrne put in a late insurance goal for the Bears, her 12th of the year.

The Timberwolves lost one player to a red card three minutes in, and another in the 60th minute. … Sandpoint got the only goal of the game from Tony Sorentino in the 60th minute, and Seth Baker made it stand up in goal as the Bulldogs (6-1-1) knocked off visiting Post Falls (2-4-2) 1-0. Sandpoint is only one loss behind first-place Coeur d’Alene in the IEL standings. … Jose Garcia picked up a loose ball 10 yards in front of the goal and buried it to give Orofino (2-0-0 Intermountain League) a 1-0 road win at St. Maries (1-3-0 IML).
