Mariners’ GM should go, too

The Spokesman-Review

It is my understanding the general manager buys, sells and trades the players. He provides the material with which the coaches work. So when Bob Melvin couldn’t make “a silk purse out of a sow’s ear,” he got fired.

To the owners: Replace the general manager, too.

To Bob Melvin: Success is the best revenge. Someday, somewhere, we will see you in the winner’s circle.

To the players: You each personify good sportsmanship and good citizenship. If you maintain those qualities, you will retain the love and respect of your fans. You are the best men in baseball.
