Baseball

Dec. 27-29: 22nd annual College of Southern Idaho baseball camp offers instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, infield/outfield skills and base running. Instructors include major league players, professional scouts, college coaches and CSI staff and players. Basketball

Oct. 17: Spokane Basketball Officials meeting for those interested in officiating this season. This introductory meeting is scheduled Sunday, Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m., North Central High School. Info: Steve Ayres at 326-7833.

Sign up: Spokane Parks and Rec men’s and women’s rec league begins week of Nov. 29. Team registration fee of $250 is due Nov. 1 and player fees are $300 (for seven players) due by Nov. 17. Info: 477-4732.

Dec. 18-19: Hanford Holiday Hoopfest in Richland. The AAU sanctioned tournament is for sixth- through eighth-grade boys and girls. Cost is $160 per team with a guarantee of four games. Cheerleading

Hiking

October: Spokane Parks and Rec offering various one-day hikes throughout the month of October. Dates, cost and times vary. Pre-registration required. Cost is $19 for each hike. Info and sign up: 625-6200.

Hunting

Nov. 4: A free clinic on advanced techniques for hunting whitetail bucks during the November hunting seasons is being offered by reps from Primos on Thursday Nov 4, 6:30 p.m., at The General Store, 2424 N. Division. Info: 444-8000.

Nature

Oct. 18: The Coeur d’Alene Chapter of the National Audubon Society will host “Bill and Feather Malformations in Birds.” Program features speaker Judy Hoy, a wildlife rehabilitator in Montana who has been noting deformities in birds and mammals for a number of years. Running

Skiing/Snowboarding

Sign up: Preseason ski/snowboard conditioning class offered by U-District Physical Therapy. Class offers conditioning for skiers and snowboarders of all levels ages 10 and up. Classes are one hour, twice a week. Session 1 is Oct. 25-Nov. 18 and Session 2 is Nov. 22-Dec. 16 on Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Cost is $80 for eight group sessions. Info: Brian at 458-7686.

Volleyball
