Meth found during arrest for warrant

The Spokesman-Review

A 34-year-old man arrested on a warrant Tuesday found himself in trouble when an officer allegedly found drugs in his pocket.

Spokane Valley Police Department officer Rick Johnson went to a man’s home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to arrest Beauregard G. Phelan, 110 S. Greenacres Road, on a warrant for third-degree theft, according to a police department press release.

During a search of the man, Johnson allegedly found a small bag of methamphetamine in Phelan’s shirt pocket. The man claimed the shirt wasn’t his, but Johnson wasn’t convinced, according to the press release.

Phelan was booked into the Spokane County Jail for the warrant and on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.
