Former Station 2 sold
The Spokane Valley Fire Department finalized the sale of a vacant fire station this week.
Valley Fire closed the sale of former Station 2, at 8007 E. Trent Ave. on Wednesday, said Valley Fire Chief Mark Grover.
The fire district will get $150,000, its asking price, for the property, documents show.
Barney and Cheryl LeFavour bought the station. They plan to lease it, Barney LeFavour said this week.
The couple has had a few commercial buildings in the past and felt the station would be a good investment. LeFavour said he liked the building because it was in good condition and could be rented without needing much work. LeFavour said he thinks the station could work well as an office.
The station sits on a small lot that fronts on busy East Trent Avenue. Valley firefighters moved out of the station earlier this year when Millwood decided to give up on its struggling department and contract with Valley Fire. Valley Fire bought Millwood’s newer station, located nearby, this summer. The move to Millwood left the station on Trent Avenue vacant.
