Rice doesn’t deserve to be trashed

The Spokesman-Review

John Blanchette’s derogatory column about Jerry Rice (“Ageless in Seattle,” Oct. 20) probably doesn’t deserve a comment, but I would like you to know it was a total waste of ink and paper. As far as being a waste of time on Blanchette’s part, it probably wasn’t, as it appears he has more time on his hands than he knows what to do with. I Can’t believe you pay this decrepit fossil money for his feeble attempt at journalism.

It is quite obvious Blanchette is brainless in Spokane. He definitely has no tact, diplomacy or class. Lacking these three qualities must be what qualifies him as a sportswriter (if you want to call him that – maybe he doesn’t have a title). Blanchette should be put out to pasture. The readers of The Spokesman-Review deserve a big break and I am sure they would appreciate seeing Blanchette ride off into the sunset.

Trashing people does not a writer make, but it definitely exposes Blanchette’s IQ.

Jerry Rice is 10,000 times the person that egotistical John Blanchette ever thought of being (even in “Don Quixote,” Blanchette’s wildest dreams).
