Candidates omitted from guide

Because of an editing error, two candidates were omitted from Tuesday’s Election 2004 voters’ guide. Background information on the candidates, Republican attorney general hopeful Rob McKenna and 9th District legislative candidate David Buri, appears on page B4.

Comments misattributed in Hagadone story

A remark in a Saturday story about Duane Hagadone’s proposed botanical gardens in Coeur d’Alene should have been attributed to Terry Cooper, owner of Simple Pleasures. Because of a reporter’s error, the remark was attributed to Coeur d’Alene City Councilman Al Hassell.

Idaho did not refuse funds

Idaho received $16.6 million in federal funds to improve voting under the Help America Vote Act and has already spent some of it to update its voter database. Because of incorrect information from the research group electionline.org, a story in Monday’s newspaper incorrectly reported that Idaho was one of several states that refused the money.
