Match 9—Loser match 5 vs. winner match 7, Mt. Spokane, 1 p.m. (loser out, winner to state). Match 10—Loser match 6 vs. winner match 8, Mt. Spokane, 2:30 p.m. (loser out, winner to state).

Match 12—Winner match 5 vs. winner match 6, Mead, 4:30 p.m. (winner No. 1, loser No. 2 to state). Match 11—Winner match 9 vs. winner match 10, Mead, 6 p.m. (winner No. 3, loser No. 4 to state).

Outlook: Mead, the defending regional and state champion, and U-Hi are state veteran teams. All four Big Nine regional qualifiers return, including unbeaten Eisenhower and Kamiakin who were fifth and eighth at state last year.

At stake: Four berths to state tournament in Everett, Nov. 5-6.

Schedule: Match 1—GSL No. 2 West Valley-Spokane vs. Mid-Valley No. 3 West Valley Yakima, main gym, 11 a.m. (loser out). Match 2—GSL No. 3 East Valley vs. Mid-Valley No. 2 Prosser, small gym, 11 a.m. (loser out. Match 3—Mid-Valley No. 1 Selah vs. winner match 1, main gym, 12:30 p.m. Match 4—GSL No. 1 North Central vs. winner match 2, main gym, 2 p.m. Match 5—Winner Match 3 vs. winner Match 4, main gym, 3:30 p.m. (winner No. 1 seed to state). Match 6—Loser Match 3 vs. loser Match 4, small gym, 3:30 p.m. (loser out). Match 7—Loser Match 5 vs. winner Match 6, main gym, 5 p.m. (winner No. 2 seed to state).

Outlook: NC will try and break the Mid-Valley stranglehold on this regional. Last year all three state qualifiers were from that league, though only Prosser, which finished seventh, returns.

At stake: Two berths to state tournament in Everett, Nov. 5-6.
