Chuck Freeman is the city manager in Airway Heights. Due to an editing error, a story in Monday’s paper on tribal development provided the wrong name.

Basketball story incorrect

High school senior Larry Gurganious has made an oral commitment to play basketball for Gonzaga University. Because of a copy-editing error, a headline in Tuesday’s Sports section incorrectly said he had signed with GU.

Officer’s town, job in error

Because of incorrect information provided to the newspaper, a story Tuesday listed the wrong town and occupation of a former police officer who is charged with raping two girls. Michael Wayne Hopkins, 41, worked as a police officer in Bingen, Wash., and as a corrections officer at Walla Walla State Penitentiary.

Business headline misleading

A headline in Tuesday’s Business section implied that the Spokane Research Laboratory is a for-profit company, when it’s actually a unit of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
