Dinner, auction, dance will benefit senior center

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane Valley Senior Center is holding a dinner and auction to raise money for a dance floor for the new center, which is expected to be finished next year.

The Sept. 11 event begins with a silent auction at 4 p.m. Saturday, followed by a chicken dinner and salad bar. The Uncle Harolds will perform sentimental dance favorites.

The Greater Spokane Elks Lodge, 2605 N. Robie, is hosting the auction, which includes a one week stay at a condo in Canada and an overnight Jacuzzi suite for two at Best Western Pheasant Hill.

Other items include two ride-alongs with Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies, a cruise on the Spokane River, silver rounds, a chiropractic exam and X-rays, gold jewelry, golf, billiards, wine, a liquor cabinet and a car alarm with installation.

In addition, there will be an assortment of theme baskets and gift certificates for local restaurants and services, such as installation of a satellite dish.

Tickets are $12.50 per person in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at Spokane Valley Senior Center, 11423 E. Mission Ave. For more information, call 926-1937.
