St. Mark’s Lutheran plans hymn sing
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Ave. is hosting its annual hymn sing on Sunday at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.
Some of Spokane’s premier musicians will perform a program of hymns as well as take requests from the hymnal for the congregation to sing.
Organist Carol Miyamoto leads the ensemble, which includes singers Randi Von Ellefson and Ann Fennessey, brass players Dan Keberle, Melinda Keberle, Andy Plamondon and Tom Molter and percussionist Marty Zyskowski.

Youth worship
The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is celebrating youth presence in both the cathedral and the Spokane Diocese.
During the 10 a.m. service on Sept. 12, the next generation of the church will lead the worship service and read prayers they have written.
Four of the young members will also present the sermon, which will focus on a recent pilgrimage as well as their Camp Cross trip.
After the service, outside the cathedral, will be the Cathedral Fair, where people can enjoy an inflatable obstacle course, games, a jumping castle, face painting and more.
There will also be hot dogs, sausages, chips and drinks for sale.
