Sporting events mean big business in the Inland Northwest, and could become a bigger part of the regional economy.
Event organizers say the region has set a good track record of hosting major events. Next up: the 2007 U.S. Figure Skating Championship, which is expected to draw more than 100,000 fans and have an economic impact of at least $11 million, and perhaps much more.
