Valleyfest – This free community celebration for children and families will be Sept. 25 at Mirabeau Park in Spokane Valley. To volunteer for this event, call Peggy at 922-3299 or e-mail pdoering@spokaneim.com.

The ARC of Spokane – The ARCs Community Center needs volunteers who are comfortable around people with developmental disabilities to work as craft aides, companions, dance chaperons, variety show helpers, and as guest speakers. Volunteers are also needed as in-house companions to help with music/dancing, crafts, sing-alongs, reading, taking walks and other one-on-one activities. Cancer Patient Care – Volunteers with experience in law, tax or financial planning are needed to head up the CPCs Planned Giving Program. For more information, contact Marian at 456-0446 or e-mail mariant@cancerpatientcare.org.

Friends of the Centennial Trail – Many volunteer opportunities are available to work in trail clean-up, trade show booths, and help in the office. For information, contact Kaye at 624-7188 or e-mail friends@spokanecentennialtrail.org.

Habitat-Spokane Builders Surplus Store – Volunteers age 14 and over are needed to work as a sales associates, warehouse assistants or customer service representatives. For information, call Dennis at 535-9517 or e-mail hsbss2@cd4pc.net.

SpokAnimal CARE – Volunteers are needed to help with off-site adoptions, kennel care, cat cage sanitation, and foster care for shelter animals in your home. For more information, contact Laura at 534-8133.

Washington State-Division of Children and Family Service – Drivers are needed to aid in casework with children. Must provide own car with basic insurance and pass clearance. Equipment and reimbursement for mileage provided. For information, contact Morton at 363-3552.
