Dr. Sandra W. Horning has recently been hired by Sacred Heart Emergency Physicians in the practice of pediatric emergency medicine. She is a 1979 graduate of Tulane University and completed her internship and residency at the University of Colorado in 1982. Horning has been recently accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Valley Hospital Urgent Care has recently hired Dr. Robert B. Lutz in the practice of family medicine. He is a 1988 graduate of Temple University, completed his internship at Oakland Naval Hospital in 1989 and his residency at Bayfront Medical Center in 1995. Lutz has recently been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Dr. Kaiulani W. Morimoto has recently been hired at Rockwood Clinic in the practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery. She is a 1996 graduate of John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in 1999. Morimoto has recently been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society.

Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital has recently hired Dr. James D. Reggin as a pediatric neurologist. He attended the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Children’s Hospital of Winnipeg.

Dr. Linda Muir has recently been hired at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. She is a graduate of the University of California College of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Keller Williams Realty Spokane has recently hired Christy Prest as a real estate agent. She was previously with Coldwell Banker Northwest.

LeRoy Pilant has recently been hired at Keller Williams Realty Spokane as a real estate agent. He was previously a licensed Realtor in Arizona and worked in telecommunications.

Lorrie Smyly of Spokane has recently earned top honors in the Excellent Beginnings Program Achievers of Lia Sophia. Smyly earned this accomplishment by meeting certain sales levels in her first 15 weeks with the company, which sells jewelry.

Potlatch Corp. has recently been awarded the Region 2 Above and Beyond Award from the Idaho Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves. This award is given to companies whose compensation and benefit packages for activated employees in the National Guard and Reserves exceeds federal guidelines.

Pacific Northwest Financial Associates, an agency of MetLife Financial Services, has recently been named by MetLife as Financial Planning Firm of the Year. The company received this national honor based on its client services, industry leadership and community service.

Erica Young of Fruci & Associates has recently become a certified QuickBooks Point of Sale ProAdvisor. Young earned this designation by participating in a 12-lesson self-study course and passing an online exam.

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has granted Gonzaga University $200,000 for its community service endowment. The funds will support programs offered by the school’s Center for Community Action and Service Learning.

The Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation of Modesto, Calif. has recently awarded Gonzaga University a five-year $500,000 grant to continue the Mary Stuart Rogers Scholarship program. These scholarships are given to juniors, seniors and upper-division education students who have shown a commitment to community service.
