Paws for Reading – Kaile the reading dog will be at the East Side Library, 524 S. Stone, at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday for children who need help reading out loud or who are reluctant to read. For information, call 444-5377.
Little Performers Combo Dance – For kids ages 7-9. Spokane Parks and Recreation is offering classes including the basics of ballet, tap and jazz beginning Oct. 4 from 6:15-7:15 p.m. The classes meet weekly at the Southside Senior Activity and Community Center, 3151 E. 27th. Kids Bike Race Series – Kids ages 2 through 12 can participate in competitions on kid-friendly courses, learn safety tips and routine bike maintenance and more during this series of bike races. The events take place Sunday at 11 a.m. at Mirabeau Point Park, 13500 E. Euclid and Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. at Audubon Park at Northwest Boulevard and Milton. Registration is recommended. Before- and After-school Programs – Educational and fun programs are available at the Northeast Youth Center, 4001 N. Cook. Transportation to and from some local elementary schools is available and state pay is accepted. Includes a federally approved snack.
