Fence, locks cut at storage units
Two self-storage businesses had locks cut off rented units in the past week.
A thief cut holes in a chain-link fence at Sullivan North Self Storage, 4622 N. Sullivan Road, sometime Monday evening or Tuesday morning, according to the Spokane Valley Police Department. An employee told police that she had found locks had been cut off two storage units Tuesday, but she told officers she didn’t know whether anything had been stolen.
Two sections of fence had been hacked through, likely with bolt cutters, said Valley Police spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan.
Eight self-storage units also had locks cut at Empire Storage, 12009 E. Empire Way. The thefts occurred sometime Sept. 18 or the following day, Reagan said.
