Thanks for contributions to troops

I would like to extend my great appreciation and warm thanks to all who contributed to our drive for “bug spray” for the troops in Iraq. We collected more than 250 pounds of bug spray, feminine hygiene products, phone cards, decks of cards, lotion, wet wipes, books, sunglasses, toothpaste, good shampoo/conditioner and so much more.

This wonderful community of Kootenai County has reached out and given so much and I am truly touched by everyone’s concern for our sons and daughters in Iraq. I have met many who don’t agree with this war in Iraq, but still they support our men and women who are doing their job so well. I am proud of every one of them.

I would like to send a special thank you to Lynn Berk, staff writer for the Press. It is because of her article that so many have called and contributed. Thank you, Lynn. I would also like to thank Thomas Erny (owner of the Hayden UPS store), for donating all the boxes and packaging plus over half the shipping cost. David Townsend, (CdA public Library), Hayden Library, Costco, Wal-Mart, Coldwater Creek employees, Center Partner employees, and to all the many citizens who donated items, we truly thank you.

Last and closest to my heart I would like to thank Rosemary, who wanted to stay anonymous. Your donation in honor of your brother who died serving his country in Vietnam has really touched me deeply. Thank you and God bless.
