Logan COPS offering free dump passes
Free dump passes valued at $25 will be available to Logan neighborhood residents who didn’t receive them last spring.
The passes will be distributed from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at Logan COPS, 802 E. Sharp Ave.
More passes will be distributed from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Logan COPS. The passes are valid Saturday through Oct. 17.
Passes will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. Photo ID and an Avista bill, or other bill that establishes residency at the address, is required.
The Logan neighborhood is bounded by Trent to the south, Euclid to the north, Division to the west and Napa and the Spokane River to the east.
Deer Park book sale
Friends of the Deer Park Library will have a new and used books sale Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Deer Park Auto Freight, 2405 E. Crawford in Deer Park.
New books are priced at $3, new CDs are $3, and used books 15 cents each or 10 for $1.

• The Whitman Neighborhood Council will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Whitman Elementary School, 5400 N. Helena St.
• The Balboa/South Indian Trail Neighborhood Council will meet at next Thursday at 7 p.m. at Balboa Elementary School, 3010 W. Holyoke Ave.
