Man gets year in jail in attempted rape
A 46-year-old Spokane man pleaded no-contest Wednesday in a case in which a woman said she had to jump out of his moving car to avoid being raped. Anthony S. Prisco had been charged with attempted second-degree rape, harassment and second-degree malicious mischief in the Dec. 7, 2004 incident near the intersection of Flint and Trails roads in the West Plains.
Prisco, also known as Alvin Lloyd Tate, pleaded to third-degree attempted assault and harassment. Superior Court Judge Tari Eitzen sentenced him to a year in the county jail.
According to court documents, Prisco and the victim — who had known him about 21/2 years — were drinking at Mootsy’s bar downtown when she asked him to take her home. On the way, she told authorities, Prisco demanded sex and told her she would never see her child again if she didn’t comply.
The woman said she opened a car door to get other motorists’ attention, and Prisco grabbed her by the hair. She said she pummeled him and jumped out when the car slowed down.
