Seahawks receive cold reception

Everett Herald

If the Seattle Seahawks got chills when their 2005 schedule was announced Wednesday, it may be because of a pair of trips slated for late in the season.

The 2005 schedule features a Monday Night Football appearance on Dec. 5 at Philadelphia, and the regular-season finale will take place Jan. 1 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Seahawks can expect cold conditions in both places.

The game against the Eagles marks Seattle’s lone appearance on Monday Night Football. The other non-Sunday game during the regular season comes on Saturday, Dec. 24, against the Indianapolis Colts.

Seattle hosts the Houston Texans on Oct. 16 in a Sunday night game that will be shown nationally on ESPN.

The season opens Sept. 11 at Jacksonville, Fla., with the home opener the following Sunday against Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons.

The two meetings with the rival St. Louis Rams come within the first nine games – Oct. 9 at St. Louis, and Nov. 13 at Qwest Field.

Other home games include Arizona on Sept. 25, Dallas on Oct. 23, the New York Giants on Nov. 27 and San Francisco on Dec. 11.

Seattle’s bye week is Oct. 30. The Seahawks are 6-0 the week before the bye in the Mike Holmgren era, and 0-6 in the week following the bye.
