Baseball’s South Division second-place team takes on the North Division leader Tuesday, when Lakeside (7-2, 6-1) travels to Chewelah (7-3, 5-2) for a 4 p.m. game. Both teams will work their pitching staffs around doubleheaders adjacent to the game, with Lakeside at South Division leader Pullman (8-1, 7-1) next Friday and Chewelah at North Division second-place Colville (4-4, 4-4) Saturday. With a Saturday sweep, Colville could leapfrog the Cougars into the driver’s seat in the North.
