Help us rename Front Porch column

The Spokesman-Review

We want to rename The Front Porch column, which appears regularly in the Voice.

To some, the current name conjures up an image of a rustic codger in a rocking chair, shaking a palsied fist at the passing world. While well-ruminated commentaries by curmudgeons are a valuable part of community discourse, the label Front Porch fails to capture the quality of our contributors. Our writers, like our readers, are also lively and youthful, amusing and astute.

Because this is your column, we want you to give it a new name. Send your suggestions to Richard Miller, 999 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA 99201. Or send an e-mail to richardmi@spokesman.com. Be sure to include contact information.

Submissions must be received by May 12, and the winner will be announced May 26. The winner will receive bragging rights and a “Wake up and Read It” coffee mug.
