Spokane City Council

3:30 p.m. Monday, Council Chambers, City Hall, briefing on May 2 meeting and approval of routine items.

6 p.m. Monday, Council Chambers, City Hall, consideration and possible vote on measure to extend health benefits to domestic partners of city employees. Also, a mayor’s advisory committee will make a report of its findings into investigations of a fatal accident at the city’s wastewater plant last May. The council is being asked to approve a dozen new staff positions at the plant, nine of which would be to improve operating safety at the plant.

Spokane County commissioners

2 p.m. Monday, special meeting to finalize 2004 Comprehensive Plan amendments, Spokane County Courthouse, 1116 W. Broadway Ave.

2:30 Monday, meeting on jail issues, Sheriff’s office.

3:30 p.m. Monday, meeting on mental health issues, courthouse.

9:30 a.m. Tuesday, weekly briefing with the county CEO, Courthouse.

2 p.m. Tuesday, weekly meeting on non-hearing items, lower level, Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway Ave.

2:30 p.m. Tuesday, department heads meeting, Room 2B, Public Works Building.

Spokane Plan Commission

12 p.m. Wednesday, Council briefing center, lower level of City Hall, workshop on issues involving Spokane River properties at 12:30 p.m. and workshop on draft of new zoning code at 1:15 p.m.

Spokane Valley City Council

6 p.m. Tuesday, City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave., regular council meeting. Topics include: road improvement projects, jail staffing, sign code and an amendment to the 2005 budget.

Spokane County Board of Health

Noon Thursday, Spokane Regional Health District, 1101 W. College Ave. The agenda includes food regulations and the budget.
