Vote for Freeman bond to improve school facilities

We are voting for the Freeman bond. Why? Because it’s time!

The facilities are old and in dire need of a face-lift, not for cosmetic reasons but for the health and safety of our children.

The elementary school parking lot is a hazardous area for even the most skilled Indianapolis 500 driver; classrooms are easily accessible from the parking lot, giving unauthorized persons direct access to our children; and the building is way behind in its fire safety codes.

The high school houses almost twice the number of students it was originally meant to hold. The lunchroom is so overcrowded that kids are eating their food while sitting on the floor in hallways that are too narrow; roofs are leaking; and sprinkler systems are outdated and/or nonexistent.

It’s time – perhaps way past time to step up and give these kids the facilities they deserve.

Let’s give the hardworking kids at Freeman an educational environment that will enhance their chances of success, not fight against it.

Will it cost us? Yes.

But remember, all of us have benefited from the generosity of those before us who paid the needed taxes to ensure our educational experiences were adequate and safe. Now it’s our turn to do the same for the next generation.

Don’t the children of Freeman deserve that? We think so.
