Indians 9, Tigers 6: At Detroit, Casey Blake and Coco Crisp both homered and drove in three runs as Cleveland scored all of its runs in the sixth inning and beat Detroit.

Yankees 6, Blue Jays 2: At Toronto, Gary Sheffield homered and journeyman Aaron Small won again to lead New York to a victory over Toronto.

Athletics 5, Royals 4: At Kansas City, Mo., rookie Dan Johnson homered for the third consecutive game and Oakland rallied from a three-run deficit to beat Kansas City.

Orioles 10, Rangers 5: At Arlington, Texas, Jay Gibbons and Brian Roberts homered in a six-run third inning, and Baltimore defeated Texas to remain unbeaten in two games under interim manager Sam Perlozzo.

Twins 12, Red Sox 0: At Minneapolis, Brad Radke’s seven strong innings helped Minnesota to a victory over Boston, which had its eight-game winning streak snapped.

Angels 5, Devil Rays 4: At Anaheim, Calif., Bengie Molina and Casey Kotchman hit consecutive homers in the seventh inning to break a tie, and Los Angeles beat Tampa Bay.

National League

Mets 9, Cubs 5: At New York, Mike Cameron and Cliff Floyd each had two-run hits in a six-run second inning, and New York used 14 singles to beat Chicago.

Brewers 3, Phillies 1 (10): At Philadelphia, Ben Sheets pitched nine dominant innings and Milwaukee took advantage of two Philadelphia errors on the same base hit in the 10th inning to beat the Phillies.

Dodgers 12, Pirates 6: At Pittsburgh, Olmedo Saenz homered while driving in a career-high six runs and Los Angeles bounced back after being dominated in a shutout loss the night before, hitting three home runs in a victory over Pittsburgh.

Marlins 5, Reds 1: At Cincinnati, rookie Jason Vargas shut down the league’s highest-scoring team, Miguel Cabrera and Alex Gonzalez homered, and Florida beat Cincinnati.

Padres 6, Nationals 5: At Washington, Nationals starter Livan Hernandez tossed a glove, cap and jacket into the stands after being lifted in the sixth inning, and Washington went on to lose to San Diego on an unearned run in the ninth inning.

Cardinals 11, Braves 3: At St. Louis, Mark Mulder and the Cardinals ended John Smoltz’ eight-game winning streak with a victory over Atlanta.

Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 4: At Phoenix, Lance Cormier’s errant throw to third in the ninth inning allowed Garrett Atkins to score the go-ahead run, and Colorado beat Arizona.

Giants 4, Astros 0: At San Francisco, Jason Schmidt pitched eight shutout innings, Lance Niekro hit a two-run homer and San Francisco handed Andy Pettitte his first loss in nearly seven weeks with a victory over Houston. Pedro Feliz had an RBI single and Randy Winn added two hits and scored three runs for San Francisco.
