Donovan hits 100-win mark as Storm roll

Associated Press

Seattle’s Anne Donovan became the first female coach in the WNBA to reach 100 wins, as Lauren Jackson had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Storm over the visiting Minnesota Lynx 76-60 Thursday night.

Iziane Castro Marques scored 12 of her 16 points in the second half and Sue Bird added nine assists for Seattle (17-13), which won its seventh straight at home.

Coupled with Houston’s win over Phoenix, the Storm remained one-half game ahead of the Comets for second place in the Western Conference. Seattle, which ended July with six straight wins, has won 3 of its last 4.

Donovan is the fourth coach – first woman – in league history to reach the 100-victory milestone. Last fall, she became the first female coach to win a WNBA championship.
