Fairfield City Council – Council members decided to delay the water tank renovation project until the spring because of weather concerns. They also decided to apply for several grants, including some to repair Main Street. They will also apply to the Spokane Regional Transportation Council for a grant to build pedestrian bridges in the lower park. A public meeting with Spokane County Commissioner Mark Richard and Capt. Gerry Fojtik of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is planned for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Community Center. The law enforcement contract is expected to be a topic of conversation.
