• “I was staying with a cousin once, and she told me that for a little bit of flavor variation when making coffee, just add a few drops of vanilla extract (or whatever extract you’d like) to the pot, or some cinnamon or cocoa powder (or whatever spices you’d like) to the grounds in the filter. Wrap your ear of corn in a wet paper towel and microwave it for three minutes. It’s as good as boiled. Just watch it closely, since if you leave it too long, it’ll start to pop!” – B.E. in New York

• Toothpaste makes an excellent cleaning abrasive, and it’s gentle enough for some delicate surfaces. Just rub a little on the stained area and wipe away. Repeat if necessary.
