STA bus posters memorialize Rosa Parks
Spokane Transit Authority bus riders were reminded Thursday of Rosa Parks’ historic contribution to the U.S. civil rights movement.
Posters on all STA buses Thursday marked the 50th anniversary of Parks’ refusal to relinquish her seat on a Montgomery, Ala., bus to a white man. Parks died in October.
The posters noted, “It all started on a bus … On December 1, 1955, she changed the course of history and inspired us all.”
Additional posters on STA buses dedicated seats in her honor.
