Kiwanis Club conveys great thanks

On behalf of the Spokane Valley Kiwanis Club, I would like to extend an enormous thank you to our community for the Thanksgiving food donations, helping to supply the Valley Food Bank with much needed food, enough to supply 789 families with Thanksgiving dinners.

And our thanks goes out to Margaret Patterson, Kiwanis member and chairperson for the Food Bank, for spearheading and organizing “Fill the Bus” on Nov 19.

Four buses were filled and the work was performed by middle school kids from all over the Valley, teachers, spouses, Central Valley High and University High Key Club members (sponsored by the Valley Kiwanis Club), members of our Kiwanis Club, and Central Valley school bus drivers.

This is only one of the many community events and fund-raisers in which we participate, and if you feel the need to give back to your community, we would love to have you come to one of our breakfast meetings and learn what we are about. We meet at Shari’s Restaurant, 320 N. Sullivan Road, every Tuesday at 6:45 a.m. You will be glad you came

Joe Rudmann

president, Spokane Valley Kiwanis
