Airlines offering free lift tickets
Airlines are rolling out promotions to get snow riders onto the slopes. We’re seeing free lift tickets when you fly to Colorado or Utah and several kids-fly-free packages.
Fly to Colorado on United and receive a free lift ticket at your choice of four ski resorts. The offer also applies when tickets include a stopover in Colorado.
Travelers who buy tickets online at www.united.com/ski by Feb. 7 for travel to Colorado from Jan. 3 through Feb. 10 will receive a coupon for a free lift ticket. The coupon must be redeemed at Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone or Vail by Feb. 15.
Travel is valid on United and United Express flights. Passengers must register for the offer at the above Web address before booking tickets.
Frontier Airlines has teamed with Intrawest Colorado to offer two-for-one lift tickets for Copper Mountain and Winter Park-Mary Jane resorts in Colorado. Frontier passengers who fly through Feb. 28 can present their boarding passes, along with a valid ID, at the resorts to receive two-for-one lift tickets.
The lift tickets must be used on the same day at the same resort and are valid Monday through Friday through April 17, excluding Dec. 26-31 and March 13-24. See www.frontierairlines.com/ski4free.
If you’re flying into Salt Lake City from out of state, you can receive a free lift ticket for use at three nearby resorts.
The Park City Visitors Bureau is offering a free same-day lift ticket to out-of-state travelers for use at The Canyons, Deer Valley Resort or Park City Mountain Resort. The offer is valid through Dec. 24, Jan. 2 through Feb. 16 and March 27 through April 16.

If you plan to travel on United to or from the western United States, you can stop in Denver for $60 each way on many routes. Kids 12 and younger fly free (one per adult) with winter packages to Steamboat, Colo., for travel on American, Northwest and United. Steamboat also offers kids-ski-free and kids-rent-free programs (two-night minimum).

American Airlines Vacations is also offering Kids Fly Free (one 12 or younger per paying adult) promotions to Crested Butte, Telluride and Vail, Colo., or to Jackson Hole, Wyo.
