Daymond Langkow scored the winning goal 3:38 into overtime, leading the Calgary Flames to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Ottawa Senators on Saturday night.

After Robyn Regehr intercepted Christoph Schubert’s clearing attempt at the Ottawa blue line, Regehr slid a pass to Jordan Leopold, who fired a slap shot on goal that Ray Emery stopped. However, the rebound came right out to Langkow, who swept it behind the Senators goaltender.

Ottawa, which lost in a shootout at Vancouver on Friday, has dropped two straight for the first time this season. Emery took his first career loss after winning an NHL-record first nine starts. The Senators (21-4-2) are tied with the New York Rangers with an NHL-best 44 points.

Tony Amonte scored for Calgary (17-9-4), 10-1-1 in its past 12 home games.

Stars 2, Maple Leafs 1: At Toronto, Jon Klemm and Jere Lehtinen scored first-period goals, and Marty Turco made 19 saves to lead Dallas to its fifth straight victory.

Former Stars goalie Ed Belfour failed in his fourth attempt to move into second place on the NHL career wins list, and Dallas won for the 10th time in 11 games.

Belfour is stuck on 447 victories, tied with Hall of Famer Terry Sawchuk.

Penguins 4, Avalanche 3: At Pittsburgh, Mark Recchi, stalled for weeks in one of the longest slumps of his career, had a goal and an assist, and Pittsburgh ended a six-game losing streak by holding off Colorado.

Despite goals by Milan Hejduk, Dan Hinote and rookie Marek Svatos, the Avalanche stayed perfect four times they’ve played on successive nights – each time they’ve won the first game and lost the second. They beat New Jersey 4-3 in a shootout Friday night.

Flyers 3, Wild 2: At Philadelphia, Branko Radivojevic scored the tiebreaking goal with 53 seconds left in the third period, leading Philadelphia to a victory over Minnesota.

Peter Forsberg returned to the lineup with a goal and assist after missing six games with a groin strain, and Kim Johnsson also scored for Philadelphia.

The injury-depleted Flyers have won four of six.

Todd White and Nick Schultz scored for Minnesota, which has lost five of six.

Sharks 4, Hurricanes 3: At San Jose, Calif, Jonathan Cheechoo scored twice and Joe Thornton had a goal and stretched his multipoint streak to a team-record five games in San Jose’s victory over Carolina.

Nils Ekman also scored for the Sharks, who have won five straight. San Jose is undefeated since obtaining Thornton from Boston on Nov. 30.

Rod Brind’Amour and Eric Staal scored for the Southeast Division-leading Hurricanes, who had won two straight in California.

Rangers 5, Blues 4 (OT): At St. Louis, Martin Rucinsky’s shot hit the end glass and bounced in off the back of goalie Patrick Lalime in overtime, giving New York a victory over St. Louis.

Jaromir Jagr added to his NHL-leading point total with a goal and three assists, including one on Rucinsky’s fluky winner.

Jagr has 50 points in 32 games on 23 goals and 27 assists. He is on pace for 128 points, which would be his highest total since the 2000-01 season when he had 121 with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Islanders 3, Oilers 2 (SO): At Uniondale, N.Y., Alexei Yashin and Trent Hunter scored in a shootout and New York snapped a three-game losing streak at home by beating Edmonton.

Hunter’s won it on the final shot of the shootout after Rick DiPietro stopped Edmonton’s Ryan Smyth.

Kings 3, Panthers 1: At Los Angeles, Pavol Demitra had a power-play goal in the first period and a short-handed one in the second, leading Los Angeles to a victory over Florida.

Joe Nieuwendyk scored for the Panthers, who lost their fourth straight overall and 12th in a row on the road to extend the franchise record.

Lightning 4, Predators 3: At Tampa, Fla., Dave Andreychuk snapped an 18-game scoring drought with a power-play goal, and John Grahame set a team record with his ninth consecutive win as Tampa Bay beat Nashville.

Martin St. Louis, Darryl Sydor and Vincent Lecavalier also scored for Tampa Bay, which has won five straight and 10 of 12. St. Louis has scored goals in four straight games.

Mighty Ducks 5, Canadiens 3: At Montreal, Petr Sykora had a goal and an assist, and Andy McDonald and Teemu Selanne each had two assists, leading Anaheim to its first win in Montreal in seven years.

Zenon Konopka, Ruslan Salei, Jonathan Hedstrom and Rob Niedermayer also scored and Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 21 shots for Anaheim, which had gone 0-3-1 in Montreal since a 5-4 win on March 21, 1998.
