U.-Phoenix donates to Angel Tree
The University of Phoenix donated more than 60 new toys to the Fairchild Air Force Base Angel Tree program on Tuesday. The university’s Spokane campus held a holiday drive to collect books, games and other toys from students, staff and faculty.
Application fees for the university were waived during November and December if the applicant donated a toy valued at $25 or more.
The base’s Angel Tree program provides toys each year to about 200 children of military personnel. Recipients are nominated by base supervisors and selected based on their need.
“We appreciate the services of our military and are happy to support the families at Fairchild by helping to make their holiday season brighter,” University of Phoenix Campus Director Paul Green said in a news release.
Started in 2000, the Angel Tree program is a joint effort by the Top Three Sergeants and the Enlisted Spouses clubs.
