Get out, get going

The Spokesman-Review

There’s a little bit of Christmas in the air this weekend. Valley Assembly of God Church is putting on performances of a dramatic musical production set in 1890 Watertown, N.Y. The Valley Worship Choir presents the tale of a special Christmas.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. today and 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, 15618 E. Broadway Ave. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Bundle up the kids and bring them for a family Christmas moment.

Music at Millwood

Millwood Presbyterian Church has been making the most of its refurbished organ by offering a series of public concerts. A concert featuring the Chancel Choir and Praise Team titled “As the Prophets Foretold” begins at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Come and listen to classic Christmas carols and hymns that will send you out the door humming (until you remember you still have to buy a present for Uncle Bob, make fudge, finish your Christmas cards and trim the tree).

Christmas play

In keeping with the Christmas theme (it is that time of year, after all), Valleypoint at Pines is presenting a drama titled “Christmas for Profit” at 7 p.m. Sunday. The story revolved around two villains determined to prevent Christ’s birth in Bethlehem. Admission is free.

Piano recital

Nearly a dozen students ages 7 to 16 from the “Upbeat Ivory Studio” will share their piano recital with the public at 10 a.m. Monday at Sullivan Park Assisted Living, 421 S. Adams Road. Come hear a little music, have some treats and come away filled with holiday cheer.
