Forest Service seeking advisers
The U.S. Forest Service is seeking applicants for several vacancies on two provincial advisory committees to the Okanogan and Wenatchee national forests.
Applicants are being sought for two-year terms on one or both committees representing public interests that include forestry conservation, fisheries, wildlife, forest products industry, mining, grazing and forest users at large.
Committee members have helped advise the Forest Service for 10 years, and serve terms without pay. Requirements for the positions include attending committee meetings in Wenatchee that take place, generally, about one day every other month. Occasional field trips and alternate meeting locations may be scheduled. The Forest Service is also looking for applicants who are knowledgeable about local and regional resource issues and public land uses and activities.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 27.
The next advisory committee meeting is 9 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Okanogan and Wenatchee Forests headquarters located at 215 Melody Lane, Wenatchee, Wash., 98801.
To submit an application, mail to Paul Hart, Designated Federal Official, at the forest headquarters or fax it to (509) 664-9314.
