Golfing groups offer scholarships

The Spokesman-Review

The Painted Hills golf course women’s and men’s clubs will be offering four $1,500 scholarships to eligible high school students this year.

The scholarship will be awarded to 2006 graduates at all Spokane-area high schools and can be used at any four-year, two-year or technical college or university.

Golf course officials have said ideal scholarship candidates will have demonstrated leadership through community involvement.

Applications are available in the counseling and career offices at all Spokane Valley high schools, and a limited supply will be available for students from other Spokane area schools at the golf course at 4403 S. Dishman-Mica Road.

The golf course will not mail applications. Packets must be picked up during club hours, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Completed applications are due by March 3. Finalists will be interviewed by a panel of women’s and men’s club members after that date.
