Holiday swirl
Whether you made them from scratch, sliced and baked them, or just bought them at the grocery store, you can give Christmas cookies homemade charm by presenting them in pretty packaging that you’ve whipped up yourself.
To decorate canisters like the ones above, use double-stick tape or a glue stick to affix cut-to-fit wrapping paper to empty food containers. (Our tins were originally full of Pringles, nuts, tea and cocoa.)
Before adding baked goods, line the canisters with colored tissue paper. For an extra dash of D.I.Y. detailing, make a gift tag. Simply trace a shipping label onto patterned paper or card stock, and cut out along the lines. Punch a hole at one end; place reinforcement stickers on both sides.
Finally, write the recipient’s name with a marker and secure the tag to the tin with ribbon or twine. With these easy, pretty packages and tags, you’ll have gift-giving covered.
