Week in review

Fire District 8 – Commissioners passed the 2006 budget. A motion was passed to declare Chief Bill Walkup the district secretary for one year, when the appointment will be revisited. The commissioners will have a planning workshop at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 18 to discuss spending the remaining bond funds and additional long-range planning items. They also passed a resolution declaring General Fire the sole source provider for self-contained breathing apparatus air masks. (Source: Deputy Chief Dan Blystone)
