Author misidentified

Because of incorrect information provided to the newspaper, the author of “Somewhere Everyday” was misidentified in the Sunday books column. Verne Patten wrote it.

Developer doesn’t owe more to IRS

A headline in a business story last week implied that developer Harlan Douglass still owed back taxes to the IRS. As the story explained, Douglass had posted a $2 million bond to cover a 1994 tax underpayment. He and the IRS agreed on a lower amount owed, resulting in a refund of part of that bond.
