Albertson Foundation names new director

Associated Press

BOISE – The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation has named a new director three weeks after the educational charity parted ways with two top executives in the wake of a failed effort to create a statewide system to track the grades of Idaho public school students.

Lori Fisher, 42, has been the grants and research officer at the foundation since 2003.

With Fisher’s appointment, the charitable foundation said it’s now looking to capitalize on her research experience to help the group identify projects to enhance educational opportunities in the state.

Prior to joining the Albertson Foundation, Fisher did research for businesses in Washington and Idaho, and helped develop programs for children at the Spokane Child Abuse, Neglect and Prevention center.
