CVSD seeking committee members
The Central Valley School District is looking for community members interested in applying for a position on a new boundary review committee that will meet March through May.
The committee would be charged by the school board with examining the attendance boundaries in the eastern part of the district in anticipation of two new schools that could be built in that area.
Liberty Lake and Greenacres elementary schools are already over or nearing capacity, prompting the need for a new elementary school, likely in the Greenacres area. A new middle school is also needed in the Liberty Lake area.
The district is considering a facilities proposal that would include building both of those schools, and remodeling and updating other Central Valley schools over the next six to eight years.
The new committee would make a recommendation to the school board on which students would attend the proposed schools.
Those interested in applying to the boundary review committee must reside in either the Greenacres Elementary, Greenacres Middle, Liberty Lake Elementary or Progress Elementary school attendance boundaries to be eligible.
The committee will meet on Tuesday evenings from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning March 15. The meetings will continue until May 31.
To request an application, call 228-5425. Applications must be received in the Central Valley School District offices, 19307 E. Cataldo Ave,, by 4 p.m. March 4.
