Repeat offender arrested again

From staff reports

Spokane Police were reunited with an old acquaintance Wednesday.

Eddy Ray Hall, a locally famous thief who had previously been arrested at least 48 times, was taken into custody again, said police spokesman Dick Cottam. He had been sought on a warrant for failing to comply with conditions of an earlier release from jail, and possession of a controlled substance.

Few details were available about the arrest that occurred at 9:45 p.m., at 728 E. Providence.

“They went in and found him hiding in the attic. Not very noble,” Cottam said. “Forty years old, and one of the most prolific burglars in the area.”

The warrant stipulates that Hall be held without bond, Cottam said.
