Keller Williams Realty Spokane has hired Jim Lanet as an agent. He is a property manager and operates a rental business and previously worked in construction.

Leslie Wood has been hired as an agent for Keller Williams Realty Spokane. She previously worked in the accounting department at High Valley Janitorial Services in Reno, Nev.

Keller Williams Realty Spokane has hired Lila Vega as an agent. She previously worked as a member advocate for a health insurance company in Los Angeles.

Ivan Urnovitz has been hired as an agent at Keller Williams Realty Spokane. He previously worked in mineral resources development and land use.

Garry Matlow has been hired at the Arc of Spokane as a communications specialist. He was previously the assistant director of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Spokane.

Bank of America has hired Amber Denney as a mortgage account executive. She has been in the banking industry for over seven years.

Tom Steinert has been hired at Symetra Financial, formerly Safeco Life & Investments, as regional sales director. He previously worked as a regional business development executive in the healthcare financial management field and also worked at Safeco from 1984 until 2002.

The office of Mary L. Cayer CPA, has hired Amanda Stern, a certified public accountant. Stern has nine years of accounting experience and earned her bachelor’s degree in professional accounting in 1996 from Eastern Washington University.

KUDOS

Washington Law and Politics has named Brian Werst as a Rising Star Super Lawyer. Werst works in the office of Stamper, Rubens, Stocker & Smith and focuses on municipal law, commercial law, public finance, health care law and labor and employment law. He is a 1998 graduate of the Gonzaga University School of Law.

Mike Stuhlmiller of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty in Coeur d’Alene, has become a candidate member of the CCIM Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Stuhlmiller has been with the company since 1997.

Brian Mildebrandt, a Kirby Distributorship operator, has earned a championship winner’s cup from Kirby. The prize was a part of the company’s Challenge of Champions “Driven to Greatness” campaign.

Tobler Marina in Rathdrum, Idaho has been named Top Volume Dealer by Glastrom Boats.

Wilbert Precast Inc., a manufacturing facility, has recently been certified by the National Precast Concrete Association. Wilbert Precast is also celebrating its 100th Anniversary.

Crace Inc.-Dale Carnegie Training of Spokane has won the company’s Chairman of the Board Award based on its performance, growth, quality of delivery and results in the classroom.

GIFTS

The National Credit Union Foundation has recently granted $31,000 to the Spokane Neighborhood Action Committee to support its ongoing outreach programs.

Platt Electric Supply has raised $276,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Spokane Advertising Foundation hosted a Red Shoe Event, to raise over $10,000 for the Toni M. Robideaux Scholarship Fund.

Windermere Real Estate has contributed $100,000 to the Fox Theater to support its renovation.

Potlatch Corp. has announced that it will match its employees’ contributions toward tsunami relief up to $1,500.

ELECTED/APPOINTED

The board of directors of Spokane Mental Health has announced the officers for 2005. They are president, Scott Crawford; vice president, Elaine Myers; and secretary/treasurer, Penny Palmer.

Judith Gilmore has been appointed as executive director of the Northwest Fair Housing Alliance.

NEW BUSINESS

The UPS Store has opened at 509 N. Sullivan. The company offers shipping, packaging, mailbox and postal services, copying, document finishing and office supplies.

PROMOTED

Barbara Kilwine has been promoted at Kiemle & Hagood Co. to residential occupancy specialist. She has worked at the Opportunity Manor Apartment Complex for the company since 2000 and is now located at the corporate office downtown.

On Sacred Grounds: Coffee, Tea & Specialty Shoppe in Steam Plant Square is now owned by Elaine Rising. The shop specializes in wood-fire roasted coffee and display artwork from local artists.
