Unfortunately, there’s nothing unique about Charlie’s story. He was the first Christmas puppy of the season for Second Chance Pet Rescue and a perfect example why rescue workers don’t recommend pets as gifts. As a “free to good home” puppy, Charlie made a cute, inexpensive present. But toddlers and puppies can clash sometimes. The kids yanked and tugged on Charlie, and Charlie battled back. One bite too many and he was returned like a gaudy sweater. Charlie’s young enough to learn good manners from a firm leader.
