Iverson’s 45 points too much for Heat

Allen Iverson had 45 points and 11 assists, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-98 victory over the Miami Heat on Monday night in Philadelphia.

Samuel Dalembert added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers, who took over down the stretch in a matchup of Eastern Conference division leaders.

Shaquille O’Neal scored 24 points and Dwyane Wade had 17 points and 11 assists for the Heat.

Wizards 106, Cavaliers 97: At Cleveland, Anthony Peeler made three 3-pointers and scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, and Gilbert Arenas scored 30 to help Washington rally past Cleveland. LeBron James had 31 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

Bulls 107, Hawks 82: At Atlanta, Eddy Curry scored 19 points, five other Bulls also reached double figures and Chicago routed Atlanta.

Timberwolves 86, Pistons 83: At Minneapolis, Kevin Garnett had 22 points and nine rebounds for Minnesota in a victory over Detroit.

Rockets 89, Magic 78: At Houston, Yao Ming had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Jon Barry scored 19 as Houston beat Orlando.

Trail Blazers 107, Spurs 99: At Portland, Damon Stoudamire had 23 points and nine assists, and Joel Przybilla added 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead Portland over San Antonio.

Clippers 97, Mavericks 87: At Los Angeles, Elton Brand scored 10 of his 23 points during a 2:11 span of the fourth quarter, and Los Angeles beat Dallas.

Off the court

Rockets forward Tracy McGrady missed Houston’s game against Orlando because of a medical emergency in his family. Team officials weren’t sure where he was going or how long he would be away. … Detroit’s leading scorer Richard Hamilton was held out of the game at Minnesota with a bruised right thigh. … Atlanta activated 42-year-old center Kevin Willis from the injured list before its game against Chicago. … Los Angeles activated point guard Marko Jaric from the injured list before its game against Dallas. … Cavaliers starting point guard Jeff McInnis missed his second straight game with a sprained left foot.
