Man arrested for DVD thefts at Wal-Mart
Double dipping is generally not a good idea, particularly when it results in your arrest.
Spokane Valley Police arrested a man for theft Monday after he allegedly returned to a store he had previously stolen items from to steal more merchandise.
Randy W. Osterloth, 27, was arrested in November after shoplifting from the Spokane Valley Wal-Mart, said police spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan in a press release. After that arrest he agreed to never enter the store again and if he did he would be charged with burglary, Reagan said.
A Wal-Mart security officer told police that he saw Osterloth enter the store and pick out $100 worth of DVD movies on Monday. The guard reported that he watched Osterloth move to another part of the store, remove the discs from their packaging and stuff the DVDs into his clothes, Reagan said.
Store security held the man until police arrived. Osterloth was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a burglary charge after he reportedly told police he wanted to pawn the movies for gas money.
