Week in review
East SCOPE (Otis Orchards) – A representative from Avista gave a presentation on how electricity travels and how it affects people. They welcomed six new volunteers who recently finished their introductory training. The group is currently signing up volunteers to drive the SCOPE patrol car through the neighborhood and do business checks. Volunteers won’t have a meeting next month, but will host a community barbecue instead. It will be at 6:30 p.m. July 28 at 4904 N. Harvard Road. (Source: Secretary Marilyn Greer)
University SCOPE – The recent windstorm dropped a tree on the SCOPE fence. Geiger inmates will be cleaning up the mess. Volunteers voted to donate $100 to Meals on Wheels in the name of Ed Jackson, a SCOPE volunteer who recently died. There will be no meeting in July or August. (Source: Secretary Donna Cave)
